In this class, we will explore Limón’s foundational principles: weight, fall & recovery, and breath. Through across the floor and short center phrases, we will discover how these principles can be applied to every dance style and our own human experience.

Natalie Clevenger

Natalie Clevenger is from Mooresville, IN and grew up training at The Dance Refinery in Greenwood, IN. They then received their BFA in dance from the University of Arizona, where they received the Gertrude Shurr award for excellence in modern dance. Upon graduation, Natalie joined Dance Kaleidoscope under artistic director David Hochoy and danced with the company for three seasons. While with Dance Kaleidoscope, Natalie was awarded the Robert Beckmann Fellowship to produce a LGBTQ+ focused show, ENIGMA, which premiered August 2022 at the District Theatre. Natalie joined the José Limón Dance Company in the fall of 2022, and is currently touring internationally and domestically with the company. At Limón, they have been featured in works from guest choreographers Aszure Barton, Raúl Tamez, Kayla Farrish, and Diego Vega Solorza, among historical works by the greats, Doris Humphrey and José Limón. In NYC, Natalie is also a guest artist with Cornfield Dance and an aspiring choreographer, recently presenting work through the DIG Residency in Queens.
